Social Responsibility & Volunteer Work

I view animal welfare not merely as a professional duty, but as a social responsibility. For years, I have actively participated in both individual and corporate projects, sustaining my volunteer efforts alongside my professional career to reach animals in need.

🌳 The GM Petsitter Forest

One Paw, One Sapling, One Future

239saplings donated

≈ 1,494 m² of forest area (based on 2.5m × 2.5m standard planting spacing)

As the GM Petsitter family, we believe that caring well for animals is not enough on its own in the world we share. Protecting their habitats, standing up for nature, and leaving a more livable world for future generations is our shared responsibility.

That is why we ask every client who joins the GM Petsitter family for just one thing: once a year, donate a sapling in the name of your companion. We believe this small act of kindness will grow over the years into a breath of life for thousands of living beings.

Because we know that we, as humans, have narrowed the living spaces of cats, dogs, birds, bees, insects, and countless other creatures over the years. Now it is time to repay our debt to nature as much as we can.

Every sapling planted is more than just a tree.
It is a bird's nest.
A squirrel's home, a bee's flower, a butterfly's habitat, the breath of the soil, and the future shade for our children.

Our biggest dream is very special… to have saplings living on in the names of the GM Petsitter family's children in all 81 provinces of Türkiye.

A cat or dog living with us today, even when they are no longer with us years from now, we want a tree planted in their name to keep living, producing oxygen, and giving life to thousands of creatures.

This project is not just a sapling donation; it is one of the most beautiful memories of love, loyalty, and life left for the future.

Our goal is to create thousands of saplings growing in the names of the GM Petsitter family's children across all 81 provinces of Türkiye, and a forest of goodness breathing life into nature in every province.

Share your certificate with us to become part of this movement of goodness.

Because some kinds of love continue to live not only in hearts, but also by taking root in the soil.

🚨 AFAD Volunteering & Search and Rescue Operations

As an AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) volunteer, I actively participate in disaster awareness, emergency management, and search and rescue trainings. During disasters, I work voluntarily for the safety and right to life of all living beings, not just humans. I believe that being prepared for disasters is part of our social responsibility, and I regularly continue my training and field operations.

🎙️ Volunteer Audiobook Narration for the Visually Impaired

I believe that equal access to knowledge and information is a fundamental right. Guided by this principle, I volunteered with Altı Nokta Körler Foundation (Volunteer Audiobook Recording for Visually Impaired Individuals), an organization dedicated to improving accessibility for visually impaired individuals. As part of this initiative, I narrated Meet Your Cat by internationally acclaimed zoologist and behavioral scientist Desmond Morris. Contributing to one of the earliest audio resources on feline behavior made available to visually impaired audiences in Türkiye was both a privilege and a responsibility that I value deeply. This experience reflects a principle that guides my professional and personal life alike: knowledge should never be limited by barriers to access. I remain committed to supporting projects that promote inclusivity, accessibility, education, and social benefit, while using my expertise to contribute wherever it can create meaningful value for others.

🐾 Active Volunteering for Stray Animals

As an active volunteer for the Patidaş Stray Animal Platform, I work on improving the living conditions of stray animals in need, primarily in the Sarıyer region, providing hands-on support in the field.

  • Treatment and rehabilitation processes
  • Food and medication support
  • Temporary foster care coordination
  • Adoption and permanent rehoming campaigns

❤️ Community-Funded Food & Veterinary Care for Stray Animals

For nearly five years, I have been actively involved in the Pay-It-Forward Food & Veterinary Care Program established under İkon Veterinary Clinic. Through donations collected from animal lovers, we provide food, medical treatment, and veterinary care for stray animals in need. This ongoing community-driven initiative has helped hundreds of animals access life-saving support and has become a sustainable model of local animal welfare and solidarity.

  • Clinical examination fees
  • Medical treatment costs
  • Medication requirements
  • Food and nutrition support
  • Essential health services

✈️ International Flight Volunteering

I actively participate in flight volunteer programs to ensure cats and dogs who find homes abroad reach their new families safely. Helping numerous cats and dogs transition to their new lives abroad each year brings me immense joy.

  • Flight logistics and bookings
  • Travel documentation and veterinary paperwork
  • International adaptation planning
  • Safe transport operations

🐱 Free Behavior Consultancy for Visually Impaired Cats

I believe that cats with special needs deserve extra support and attention. My goal is to ensure that visually impaired cats do not just find a house, but successfully adapt to a safe, peaceful, and happy life with their new families.

  • Rehoming and adaptation to new families
  • Familiarization with their home environment
  • Introductions to other resident cats
  • Multi-cat household harmony
  • Environmental modifications

🌍❤️ More Than Just a Profession

For me, animal welfare is not just about pet sitting or behavior consulting.

Improving a living being's quality of life, ensuring they reach the clinical support they need, bringing hope to homeless animals, standing by all lives during disasters, and providing accessibility for visually impaired individuals form the foundation of my professional approach.

Today, in both my professional work and volunteer projects, my shared goal is to contribute to a world where humans and animals live together in a safer, more conscious, and more compassionate environment.
